Dear Community!

After the recent major release of Studio Core, we are really excited to announce just a few days later also a major release of our native integrated solution Studio IDE. Now available in its version 2021.1.

Our new Studio IDE brings along with it the power of Studio Core 3.6 merged with the significant improvements introduced by Jetbrains with version 2021.1 of its IntelliJ IDEA, on which Studio IDE is based upon.

The most notable change brings basic support for Java 16, which was released back in March 2021, and that now empowers Studio IDE under the hood too.

Is it possible to download the new version of Studio IDE for Windows and GNU/Linux right now directly from the Developer experience portal:

Note: the current users of Studio 2020.2 will not receive any notification about the new version release within the software itself. The only way to update is by going through the manual installation process from the Developer Portal. This issue is dependent on a limitation of IntelliJ IDEA 2020.*, and it has been resolved with version 2021.1.* release.

Note 2: Studio IDE for GNU/Linux has been tested on Ubuntu 20.04, CentOS 7 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or newer. To run properly, it requires curl to be present on your machine: check if it is correctly installed before continuing.

As Always, don’t hesitate to give us your feedback! Your suggestions are critical to us to make the upcoming version of our software even better! We want to hear from you! And the community is the right place to do so! :)

Thanks for your attention!
